Fun and Games for Women Author:Roshan Choudhury   Posted On:2020-03-08

International Women's Day is annually held on March 8 to celebrate women's achievements throughout history and across nations. DI celebrated this significant day in its own special way on Friday, 06 March 2020 at Live@DI.
Crest, was the chosen band for the evening. With their impressive repertoire of playing Pop, Rock, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Retro , Reggae , Disco and Cocktail music, Crest was a great choice. Members and guests enjoyed the evening of groovy music, friends and delicious grub.
A special festive menu awaited - chilla,  an array of mouthwatering chaats, fish fingers etc kept flying off the live counters.

To commemorate this day, DI organised a delicious chocolate truffle cake from Saldanha Bakery. The cake was cut by Aunty Ruth and the ladies present in the bar. All members present, in the bar and the Courtyard received a slice of the sinfully delicious cake.
Some fun competitions and thoughtful prizes were organised by the entertainment committee and won by our lady members. Wine bottles and precious Biotique products awaited the winners.

A blindfolded Gary picked Sharon Rodrigues, amongst much cheering as the winner for one game. Sharon received a fun prize.

Anuja Kumar, attired in a unique black and white tunic with digital prints of beautiful yester-years  film actresses, won the award for the 'Most appropriatey dressed'. The attire celebrated the legendary women in our Indian film industry.
Lianne won the prize for the 'First lady on dance floor.' Nivedita Roy won a prize for wearing pink.

Fun, music and dancing continued. The women's day celebration at the DI, albeit a little early, was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
